Delhi Shops & Establishment Act, 1954

Applicability:

All shops, commercial establishments in Delhi.

Compliance:

  • Registration within 30 days.

  • Maintenance of employee records.

  • Adherence to working hours, leave rules.

Non-Compliance:

  • Penalties range from ₹5,000 to ₹25,000.

Annual Return needs to submitted on line by 15th July for the period January to June and for July to December by January 15th

Registers needs to be Maintained

Employers are required to maintain certain registers related to their employees under the Delhi Labour Welfare Fund Rules. These include a register of wages in Form D (or a muster roll-cum-wage register if one is maintained under other rules) and a consolidated register of unclaimed wages and fines in Form E. Employers must also maintain Form G (Register of Employment & Remuneration), which includes details like employee names, work, wages, and deductions, . Additionally, the law requires employers to maintain registers with particulars of employees, work, wages, and receipts.
